It’s time to make THIS SUMMER a memorable one!

Across PA, regional offices are getting ready for their annual Junior Game Warden Camps where youth, ages 12 to 15, can spend the day learning what it’s like to be a Pennsylvania state game warden.

Campers will join wardens in light physical fitness, confidence-building exercises, and hands-on learning stations.

They’ll have the opportunity to go all-in with wildlife forensics, wildlife-capture techniques, woodland tracking, outdoor survival, and all things wild!

There will be six camps hosted across our state, in each of the regions, with varying dates throughout the summer. The Northcentral Region's Junior Game Warden Camp will be held at the Scotia Range Complex (SGL 176) in Warriors Mark on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Effective immediately, traffic patterns on Scotia Range Road have been changed.

Scotia Range Road is now closed to thru traffic and gates have been closed, dividing the range complex.

Scotia Range Road is considered a seasonal access road and outside of the seasonal access timeframe, range users will need to enter from varying directions depending on what ranges you plan to use.

⚠️ North side access (Grays Woods): 20-yard pistol, 10-yard, 25-yard, 50-yard, shotgun patterning, and archery ranges.
⚠️ South side access (West Gatesburg): 100-yard, 200-yard and clay target.

All ranges are open regardless of seasonality, unless otherwise posted.

Visitors may not be able to drive directly to the range of choice by entering from the wrong direction and would be required to park and walk into the complex.

Why is this changing?

Scotia Range Road received extensive repairs in June 2025. Since that time, there has been an uptick in commercial truck traffic and vehicles traveling well above the posted speed limit. Due to maintenance and safety concerns, the Game Commission has locked gates preventing this travel to continue.

For questions or concerns, please contact the Game Commission at 1-833-PGC-HUNT.

This is your chance to get outdoors, challenge yourself, and get hands-on with skills most people never experience.

You’ll get guided, one-on-one instruction as you choose from archery, shotgun, and rifle shooting and learn the fundamentals behind marksmanship and equipment handling.

No prior experience, no gear needed — everything is provided.

Here’s the details:

It’s outdoors, it’s different, and it’s the kind of plan that actually stands out when you look back on your semester, PLUS it’s less than 20 minutes from campus. AND there will be a food truck... who doesn't love a food truck?

Grab a few friends, make the short trip, and do something that beats another predictable weekend.
