Our Parks & Recreation Department and Fairbanks Branch Library are partnering together to bring to you, "Jersey Village Trail Tales." These trail tales will be interactive book readings along our trails at Jersey Meadow Nature Trail, Clark Henry Trail, and the mini walking path at Carol Fox Park.
The books will revolve around themes like diversity, unity, outdoors, colors, and sensory learning experiences. The trail tales will fuse early childhood literacy and healthy lifestyles. Each tale will bring participants along a trail, guided by the mascot Bessie the Cow -- named after Bessie Henry of the Jersey Village Henrys. Although these are great for early childhood, all are welcome. (Our Parks Department sure is excited to read along!)
The first tale will be up this spring and will feature a story by Sherry J. Lee entitled "Going Up!" This is a story about diversity and highlights a birthday party attended by people of many different beliefs and lived experiences -- all while being illustrated in a unique way with many colors by Charlene Chua.
Keep an eye out for Jersey Village Trail Tales
