📣You’ve all been waiting, and we are so excited to announce that registration is now LIVE for all of our events for Jersey County’s 250th Jubilee on September 5th!

We are capping off our America’s 250th celebration with a day full of fun, food, music, and community!

🏃Start the morning off at 7 a.m. with a Color Run at Wock Lake! This Color Run is sure to be fun for the entire family whether you want to walk, run, or cheer on participants from the sidelines. Coffee, juice, and donuts will be available for ALL attendees!

PUBLIC NOTICE: ANNUAL OIL & CHIP SEAL PROGRAM

The City of Jerseyville Street Department, in combination with a private contractor, is scheduled to complete our annual oil & chip seal program the week of September 14, weather-permitting. The following streets are scheduled for the 2026 program: East Spruce, Sunderland, Goodrich alleyway, Jefferson alleyway, Andrew, Fletcher, Leonard, Walton, South Lafayette, South Washington, Elm, Poplar, West County, Bunse, Beatty Mound, Miller Lake, Maple Summit, American Legion interior roadways, Vine, Wock Lake parking area, Blackorby Fields parking area, City Cemetery interior roadways, and possibly others. No parking will be allowed on the streets from 7:00AM to 6:00PM, and residents in these areas will experience short-term street closures, traffic/biking/walking delays, blocked driveways, and potential garbage collection delays. Access will be provided in the event of emergencies only. The contractor will be installing a layer of oil and a layer of small rock. There will be short-term dust and some loose rock on the street after placement, which the City will sweep-up at a later date on an as-needed basis. Please note that for the next few weeks prior to September 14, the City crews will be completing preparatory work on the affected streets – grading/re-building along edges, patching, ditch cleaning – so some of the roadway areas will be in rough condition between the time of prep work and oil/chip seal work. Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we complete these important improvements within our street system, in your neighborhood. On Thursday, April 2nd, from 12:30–3:30 PM, Jersey Community Unit School District 100 faculty and staff will be partnering with our local First Responders for a planned training exercise at Jersey Community Middle School. Our students will not be in session this day.

You will notice emergency vehicles at the middle school and sports complex during this time. Please do not be alarmed — this is only a drill, and there is no emergency.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our First Responders to ensure we are always prepared and keep our students and staff safe. 💙
