Although today wasn’t the first response for the “new” Engine 25, it was the first call that it pumped on a fire! The engine crew handled a car fire on the Casey today and the Engine performed as expected!

The members were out getting to know the “new” Engine 25 and putting it through some pump operations! The younger members were able to get some nozzle time and also practice hose advancements while the drivers got to know the new ride.

Starting at 6pm we will be at Jessup PD night out event supporting them and will also have our equipment on display. We look forward to seeing the community come out to support Jessup PD!!

As many of you are aware our 1994 Sutphen (Engine 25) suffered an engine failure while enroute to a mutual aid call in June. While we did explore potential repairs of the truck the cost and out of service time would have been less than ideal. Due to the unforeseen failure the officers and members decided to move forward with a replacement engine that could be in service and operational in a short period of time. As of today at 15:00 our new Engine 25 went into service. This truck is a 1989 Sutphen with 1000 gallons of water and a 1500 gpm pump that previously served Beach Lake, PA since they purchased it brand new. There will still be some equipment mounting and decals that need to be done, but otherwise Engine 25 is officially back in service!!

A special thank you to Jessup Hose Co. #1 for loaning us Engine 31 while we navigated this tough decision.

On behalf of all of our members, we sincerely thank our community for your continued support and trust. Because of you, we are able to overcome challenges like this and continue answering the call—24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

150th Festivities are underway! Stop by Memorial Field in Jessup for some good food, drinks and say hi to the volunteers!! We will be here until dusk when we need to standby for the Fireworks display.
