🚨 Water Tower Maintenance Notice – Water Use Restrictions 🚨
The City of Jesup will be draining the water tower, starting the week of June 22nd to allow for scheduled repainting and maintenance. The tower will be empty for approximately 8 weeks.
During this time, there will be NO water storage, as we will be under pump pressure only. We are asking all residents to help conserve water. Residents will experience lower water pressure at times.
🔹 What we need from you:
• Please limit all non-essential water usage
• NO lawn irrigation or sprinkling is allowed during this period
🔹Avoid excessive use such as:
• Filling pools
• Washing vehicles
• Running large amounts of water unnecessarily
🔹 Additional Notice:
• The splash pad will also be offline during this time
🔹 Why this is important:
Reducing water usage helps maintain adequate system pressure and fire protection capabilities while the tower is offline.
We appreciate your cooperation as we complete this important infrastructure project.

🚧 Road Closure Notice 🚧
Prospect Street will be closed from Main Street to 10th Street on Monday and Tuesday June 8th and 9th as crews begin work on asphalt resurfacing.

Please plan alternate routes and use caution in the area while work is underway.

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve our streets.

The City of Jesup (pop. 2,508) is accepting applications for a Street Superintendent. This is a regular, full-time position. The salary range is $19.89-$32.08, depending on qualifications, plus benefits. Ideal candidates would have a diesel technology degree or similar experience. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and will be required to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with airbrakes endorsement within three months of hire. Iowa Grade 1 Water Treatment and Distribution Operator Certifications and Grade 1 Wastewater Treatment Certification encouraged within two years of employment.
