Amended 2025 Tax Statements are coming out in the mail for those of you who may have been affected. While many of the remaining amount dues are minimal it is still crucial that they are paid. We understand that the cost of a stamp may be more than what you owe. If you would like to pay a little extra i.e. $5-10, we will record this and apply it to the next tax roll.

We would like to again thank you for your patience and understanding as we have worked through this process.

We have made the decision to close the Courthouse effectively immediately due to the effects of the smoke blowing into the building today. We have many staff members who have asthma and other conditions that make breathing the smoke dangerous. This is to protect our staff and to protect the community. We will see what things are like in the morning.

Tax statements were generated and finalized today! The Treasurer will work her magic, so statements should go out later next week!

IMPORTANT TAX STATEMENT UPDATE

I want to provide an update regarding this year’s county tax statements. I have heard more and more people asking about them. As many of you know, I am new to the Clerk’s office and this is my first year completing the full tax statement process. During the final stages of preparation, I discovered two error's that required me to restart the process to ensure that all statements are accurate and correct.

Because of this, tax statements will be sent out later than expected. I know this delay may cause inconvenience, and I sincerely apologize. Accuracy is extremely important, and I felt it was best to take the extra time to make sure everything is done right.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as I work through this process for the first time. I’m committed to doing the job well and serving our county to the best of my ability. I will provide another update as soon as the statements are finalized and ready to go out.
