This year Leon PTO will be making strides to increase our volunteers and become an ever stronger support system for our community. PTO is not just for parents. Parents, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, and any other person who cares about our schools, our teachers and the future of our children are encouraged to join. We support various functions and activities for our school: Family Fun Night, Dr.
Seuss’ Birthday and Scholastic Book fair just to name a few. We collect BoxTops. For each one collected and sent in our school receives 10¢. This may not sound like much, but with each of us working as a TEAM, this can amount to so much more. PTO also gives back to our schools, teachers and staff. The first week of May, is staff appreciation, during this week we will spend time making our awesome staff, feel EXTRA special!! We do things like give the school a fun theme for the week, last year’s theme was Superheros. We provided breakfast, lunch, desserts and popcorn bars and pampered our teachers throughout the week. We host Fundraisers throughout the school year and 100% of our proceeds go back to our school, our teacher and our kids! Our proceeds from past fundraisers have contributed to field trips, including the yearly 5th grade NASA trip. We have sponsored the yearbook and field day. We have purchased new playground equipment, smart boards for our classrooms, and teacher lounge needs. We the PTO always want and need help! As a member you are NOT required to participate. If you choose to volunteer, you decide your time commitment. If you are unable to donate your time, we ask that you consider still becoming a member and give your financial support, in no other form than our $10 membership fee. There are many things we could get done with a little help from you all. We know everyone has different specialties and interest. We can work together to find something that suits you. Whether helping with special events, fundraisers, decorating or many of the other little things we do, we have the place for you. Our meetings are held the 3rd Monday of each month at 3:30 at the school. There is no “I” in team, but we hope to see “U” Volunteer!
