Last Friday the Jim Thorpe Police Department had the honor to participate in the 2nd. Annual Jim Thorpe Olympic Games. We watched students from across Carbon County participate in several Olympic games like relay races, water balloon toss as well as a small carnival section which included face painting and a big blowup slide. Thank you to everyone who made this day special for all involved and a big thank you to event organizer Avery Hower.

National Police Week!

National Police Week was established by President John F. Kennedy in 1962. National Police Week recognizes Law Enforcement's bravery and sacrifice. It brings together thousands of officers, survivors, and supporters for remembrance ceremonies, including the reading of names added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. During this week, Law Enforcement Agencies from across the Country, honor the over 24,000 Officers who have died in the line of duty since 1786. Rest in Peace!

Special Event

Yesterday myself and members of the Jim Thorpe Police Department stopped by the 71st Annual Children with Special Needs Fishing Derby held at the Germantown Grove Club. The weather was beautiful, the fish were biting and it was awesome seeing all those smiling faces. We also joined our brothers from the Palmerton Police Department and had a great time walking around speaking with everyone and making new friends. I want to send a big shout out to everyone (too many to name) that make this special day a big success and a big "Thank You" from the Jim Thorpe Police Department.
