We are blessed to have these young adults on our staff. This group is competent & trustworthy to run the jail without constant supervision. We are so proud of them. You have a few weeks to come meet some of them before they head off to further their education.

From left to right...

Cole - Muhlenberg College Freshman- (football Scholarship) majoring in Sports Rehab. Although his dream is to be quarterback for Denver Broncos - so if anyone has any connections ask them to give Cole a look :)

Mason - East Stroudsburg University Senior - major in History/Education to become a history teacher. Mason will be a fantastic teacher & make learning history fun.

Blake - HS Senior - still undecided on his path after school. Maybe real estate, military, or K9 law enforcement. Blake would love advice if anyone wants to share their experience with him after a tour.

Anya - Graduated from Kutztown U & accepted into Rowan University Vet School - Veterinary Neurosurgery major. Anya has been a guide here since she entered her freshman year of high school & we are so excited for her!

Lilly - only her 2nd day with us so we are still getting to know her but you wouldn't know she is new. Her co-workers have been helping her learn the guided tour & she'll be confident enough to do it on her own if a few days.

Kyra, Alex, Mia, & Spencer were off this day so we'll try to get an updated posted on them soon.

Join us for a rare 35mm screening of THE MOLLY MAGUIRES, the acclaimed historical drama staring Sean Connery and Richard Harris. Filmed on location throughout Pennsylvania and featuring stunning cinematography by legendary filmmaker James Wong Howe, The Molly Maguires vividly recreates the harsh realities of life in the anthracite coal region. The story is rooted in real historical events that continue to resonate throughout the state, particularly in Jim Thorpe, where the famed Old Jail Museum preserves the cellblocks associated with the imprisoned Molly Maguires and the mysterious handprint said to remain on the wall more than a century after the executions.

Liberty Bell History - Organizing the office today and found this picture in a box. Not sure why my dad had it or where he bought it.
On the back it’s labeled “Zion Reformed Church - Allentown PA.
Zion Church was founded in 1762… The Liberty Bell was hidden there from the threatening British at one point during the Revolutionarily War.
