This weekend one of our GRVFD top officers attended Passenger Vehicle Extrication Technician at Nicholas Co Fire School. Chief Todd Bush learned different techniques and technical movements to utilize safer and more efficient ways to extricate patients from motor vehicle accidents.
We at GRVFD are proud of Chief Bush for leading from the front by pushing beyond the standards and attending additional training to better serve the public.

This evening we had a packed classroom with personnel from Fayette and Clay County fire departments who participated in HealthNet Aeromedical’s LZ Safety Course. Under the instruction of HealthNet Director of Safety, Jeff White, participants learned how to operate at landing zones, communicate with air crews, and how to identify hazards. Personnel also were afforded to interact with the crew of HealthNet 5 and ask questions we don’t often have the opportunity for when operating on active scenes.

As always, we appreciate each of our members and those from surrounding departments for taking the time to gain and reinforce knowledge.

Thank you to HealthNet Aeromedical for providing this course!

Stay safe, and keep learning!! 🤓🚁🚒
