Absentees have been counted and the Warren County board of elections has posted their official results. I believe the State still has to certify the election, but I am very grateful for all of the support that I received this fall. I very much look forward to getting back to work on the Town Board in January!

Although the results won’t be official for weeks and there are 43 or so absentee ballots still to count next week, it looks like I will have the privilege of serving on the Town Board again beginning in January.

I had a great chat with a few residents tonight and the opportunity to make my case for their votes. My number one priority if I am re-elected is YOU, the residents of Johnsburg.

I am a Johnsburg native and have spent my life working with youth in our community. I previously served on the Town Board for 8 years and have been employed full time by local municipalities for nearly 20 years. My experience with local government helps me understand difficult issues facing small communities like ours and offer tangible solutions. My voting record shows that I listen to and care deeply about our residents.

Every year we face rising costs and it is hard to maintain all of the community services that we provide. The Town Board needs to work closely with the Supervisor to find creative ways to manage our budget, cut spending without cutting services and continue to look for outside funding sources such as grants and municipal partnerships. With community unity, we can build a brighter future for our children and grandchildren here in Johnsburg!

Had a chance to sit in on the Town-wide Fire Chiefs meeting tonight and be part of a great conversation about volunteer recruitment/retention and other challenges facing our companies. NY Assemblyman Matt Simpson also attended and provided some info on proposed law changes that may benefit our fire companies. It is clear that we have some great people serving our Johnsburg community, but they need our help and support!

During my first 8 years on the Town Board, I frequently expressed my appreciation for all of our local Fire and EMS members, the sacrifices they make to keep our community safe and I will continue to support them as much as possible, whether I win re-election or not. I strongly encourage anyone who has an interest in joining one of our local fire companies, to reach out ASAP!
