A great day training with Round Mountain VFD and Blanco ESD2. Our goal to better work together in the face of limited resources was far exceeded. We are all looking forward to the next joint training.

Yesterday JCVFD stepped up to help our neighbors in Blanco. An unexpected turn of events caused a small grass fire to turn into a really bid deal. Units from several outlying areas responded to what estimates call a 40 acre fire only a few miles west of Blanco. To our knowledge no homes were lost and there were no injuries.

It's time to say with gratitude how thankful we are for our Community. Recently Garrison Brothers Distillery, in Hye Texas, hosted an event to support the local Volunteer Fire Departments. For those that remember that was the "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner." To that end our Department President, Ray Bible was handed a check for $67,450.00. As a volunteer it is impossible to be anything other than humbled. That's what it means to be part of this Central Texas Community.
That's right being part of the community means you too are a volunteer. So whether you are on the front line, running toward the fire, or you choose to support your Volunteer Fire Department in other ways, your contribution counts.
We hope to use your contributions to make much need updates to our breathing apparatus. The more modern units are significantly lighter and hold a lot more compressed air. Needless to say that will make the time in the fire much more efficient and it's all because of you.
Again The Johnson City Volunteer Fire Departments thanks Garrison Brothers Distillery as well as the local community. We strive to be the best possibly volunteer firefighters we can be and it's all because of you.

A really good day to share time with the local kids. They really responded to Tammy’s safety portion of the presentation. Then when it comes to the big red trucks, well who could resist.

A big shout out to Johnson City ISD and The City of Johnson City for hosting their first Community Service Day. These young men did a fantastic job cleaning the Johnson City VFD truck bays.

Here we go folk's. Tomorrow is the day. One of, or let's just be honest, The Biggest Social Event in Johnson City. That's right the Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department fish fry is tomorrow evening at the Blanco County Fair Grounds.
This is a must attend event. You can dine in or follow the drive through for some of the best fried fish in Central Texas. The doors open at 5:00 pm tomorrow rain or shine. Bring your donation to support your local volunteers and enjoy the best event of the year.
