Your Home Public Library in Johnson City, NY has been providing library services to the area since 1917. YHPL offers free library services to the community.

YHPL has added two I Bird NY backpacks to the collection. These were donated by the New York DEC and have binoculars and information on NY wildlife and birdwatching. YHPL will be closed on Friday June 19 in observation of Juneteenth. We will reopen 10:00am to 8:00pm for Geek Out, and 10:00am to 12:30pm for the book sale on Saturday June 20.

YHPL Geek Out 2 - Saturday June 20th, 2026 10am-8pm

Once again, this will be all physical, tangible, in-person tabletop gaming, all day. Role-playing. Board games. Card games. Word games. Whatever you like to play. We're also planning to have a children's play area open for little ones. There will be a large open gaming area with a library of games (modern euro games, family games, etc.) available. Reminder: the library, parking lot, and driveway are closed today. See you tomorrow at 9am!

Your Home Public Library will be closed Friday, May 22 through Tuesday, May 26 for Memorial Day weekend and some construction. We'll reopen Wednesday, May 27.

Please note: construction starting this Friday means our driveway, parking lot, and outdoor book drop will also be out of service during this time. Please hold onto any items until we reopen.

YHPL's Seed Library is back! We've received another donation of edible plant and flower seeds. Seeds are available while supplies last, so please only take what you will use. Each packet contains enough seeds for home gardening use.
