A line of showers and storms are beginning to move into the Central NY. Winds will likely become gusty as this line moves through. Elsewhere, individual cells are developing south of this line in Central PA, some of which have been severe.

Good morning all. Starting off partly sunny and warm today. Clouds increase as a front approaches later this afternoon and evening. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and head of the front, with some being strong to severe. All of Central NY and Northeast PA are under a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe storms. The timing will be isolated storms 2-5 PM, then a more widespread line of t'storms is expected from 5-11 PM this evening, moving northwest to southeast across the area. Remain weather aware today, and have a reliable way to receive any weather warnings that are issued! weather.gov/bgm

[325 PM SAT 6/13 UPDATE] Hope you are enjoying a stunning Saturday; conditions remain quiet through Sunday morning, then it will turn active as a front approaches. All of Northeast PA-Central NY remains in a Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms Sunday afternoon-evening, though there has been an uptick in damaging wind risk. Good Saturday morning everyone. After some early morning fog it will become sunny and warm for the rest of today, with lower humidity levels. We are closely watching the potential for some isolated to scattered severe storms to impact the area Sunday afternoon and evening as a stronger cold front approaches. All of NE PA and most of Central NY is under a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe t'storms on Sunday. The greatest threat from these storms appears to be strong, potentially damaging winds. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued with damaging winds and hail as the main threats this afternoon. A line of storms moving through Broome and Susquehanna counties have a history of producing 40-50mph wind gusts and periods of heavy rain. We are not expecting more storm development to the west once the storms move through the region. Please be weather aware this afternoon if you are in the Watch area!
