That's a wrap for Johnson City Schools STEM Camp 2026. On the last day, a surgeon who uses a robotic surgery system (and was a JCS student!) visited students learning about human joints and prosthetic limbs! Some students were a little too squeamish for the video she showed them, but they still learned a lot! 🦾

Students also put the finishing touches on their video production projects and made moving skull masks! Spooky!💀

Thank you to all our students, staff and visitors who made this year's STEM Camp possible!🎉

Have you ever seen an owl pellet?🦉

After an owl eats, it regurgitates parts of its food that it can't digest, like bones, fur and feathers. Scientists can learn a lot about owls and the environment they live in from studying these pellets. Our young scientists in Johnson City Schools STEM Camp dissected owl pellets today and found a ton of cool things inside! 🕵️‍♀️

Other classes are elbow deep in building prosthetic arms with moving fingers 🦾and editing videos for commercials with backgrounds superimposed on greenscreens!🎥👩‍🏫

We've only got one day left in this weeklong camp, so we hope everyone has had fun and learned a lot about science and related fields!🔬
