โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ•๏ธ Week 4 of Summer Camp is here, but first, letโ€™s look back at all the fun from last week!

๐Ÿฆ‰ Jump Start Camp welcomed Vanessa from Green Valley Wildlife, who introduced campers to some feathered owl friends.

๐Ÿ Connieโ€™s Nature Camp wrapped up the week with a surprise visitor โ€” a snake!

๐ŸŒฑ Sprouts Camp learned all about gardening and took home healthy treats thanks to our friends at the Pop-Up Farmers Market.

๐Ÿฐ 3D Modeling Camp put creativity on display as campers designed and built their own castles.

๐Ÿ Volleyball Camp was in full swing at Memorial Park Community Center, with campers sharpening their skills on the court.

๐Ÿš’ Carver Recreation Camp took a field trip to Fire Station No. 3 to learn important fire safety tips from local firefighters.

We canโ€™t wait to see what adventures Week 4 has in store! Stay tuned for more summer fun.

The Langston Centre hosted a Juneteenth Community History Harvest celebration on Friday, bringing together community members to help preserve and share the rich history of Johnson Cityโ€™s Black communities.

Residents contributed stories, photographs, and historical documents connected to the Roan Hill, Carver/West-Davis, and Carnegie neighborhoods. These valuable materials were scanned on-site and will help support the Cityโ€™s ongoing Black Heritage Trail project, ensuring these important stories are preserved for future generations.

The event also featured a special presentation from students in the AV Camp. Over the past three weeks, campers worked on a Juneteenth-themed project and shared their work with attendees, highlighting the significance of this important day in American history.
