Open House - Police Station Facility - Tuesday, September 8th

The City Council of the City of Johnson City is considering the issuance of Certificates of Obligation (debt) in the amount of $1,060,000 for the construction of a new police station facility and related improvements at the Municipal Complex (City Hall) located at 303 E. Pecan Dr.

In an effort to be as transparent as possible through this process, the City is hosting multiple public hearings and open houses on the matter so that the public has the opportunity to express their views and tour the current police station and its working environment.

𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗸𝘆 𝗜𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗯𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:

Curbside collection is limited to 8 cubic yards of combined brush and bulky items. Please see below for a visual representation of 8 cubic yards of material:

Brush is defined as undergrowth, small trees, and shrubs personally cut / trimmed by the property owner. Brush also includes bagged leaves. Limbs / branches should be 6 ft. or less in length, with the cut ends facing the street.

Bulky items are defined as large household items, including, but not limited to, stoves, refrigerators, water tanks, washing machines, discarded bathroom fixtures, furniture, mattresses / box springs, television sets, old paint cans with the lids removed and dried paint, and other household items that cannot be processed during regular collections.

A New Service is Coming to Johnson City Residents

Beginning October 1, residential customers will have access to WM’s At Your Door Special Collection — a convenient way to safely dispose of household hazardous waste, electronics and other hard-to-recycle items right from your front door.

All residential customers are automatically enrolled in the program — there is no need to sign up.

Have old paint in the garage? Used motor oil? An unwanted TV or computer? The program accepts a variety of common household items, including paint products, automotive fluids, batteries, electronics, household cleaners, garden and pool chemicals, fluorescent bulbs and more.

When you have items ready for disposal, simply schedule a home collection.
