Well election is over. I want to thank everyone that saw my concern and voted for me to try to make a difference in society and our community. I might have lost this one but I am not giving up on my neighbors. I will keep this page open for a few days and then I will take it down. Hopefully I see you around District 1

I know I have discussed this topic before. But because of what has happened lately in our country and the community of District 1 I feel I have to revisit the issue. I have been working since day one to help protect our immigrant friends and neighbors. I have put a focus on what is happening to immigrants that are working throughout the District 1 and struggling to avoid the ICE arrests for simply being Hispanic ie brown skinned with accents and working low paying jobs. ICE is not going after criminals. No murderers no rapists or drug dealers. Not the worst of the worst. Simply human Beings trying to make a difference in our society. And now this week we see untrained jumpy officials murder two Hispanic people one in Houston and one in Maine. The Houston murder is quite upsetting to me. My family lives there. It could easily be someone I know who was shot. It is infuriating and frustrating to see our country take this path. This nation was built on immigrants. History has shown that in the worst of situations an immigrant has provided the needed back bone to move this nation forward. ICE must be disbanded. ICE no longer serves a purpose. It now is a militarized force to intimidate our community both immigrants and nonimmigrants alike. Enough of the violence. Enough of the violations of the Constitution. Enough with the injustice. Send me to Washington DC to stop this insanity. Send me to Washington DC to put a stop to this lawless behavior of the DHS

Okay guys the topic today is the summation of the discussion I had with people across the District 1 area. I went to several counties and talked to the people here is what I was told. According to the people my main concerns should be
Affordability
Healthcare
Education
Rejection of Bitcoin mines
And of particular interest for the area:
Affordable housing
Increase minimum wage
Protecting the environment
Increase tourism while keeping tabs on excessive growth
Farming
And one topic that was of particular interest was the activity of ICE
All of these are issues I addressed and realize it is not going to be easy to find solutions but the only way to get a hold of these issues is by sending me to Washington DC. I was asked what would your availability be like once in DC. I promise now my door and phone would always be available to anyone from District 1 area of Tennessee. Being accessible is critical to find the solutions to the problems of the District

Today's topic is very relevant for so many in District 1. Air Quality. This is one of the biggest issues I have been giving voters to understand that the struggle against BWXT is not over. Here's why. There is a Bill waiting for action in the House. It's called the Public Health Air Quality Act of 2025 also known as HR5242. This Bill would establish fence line monitoring that must be installed by the facility. This is to directly monitor the air quality right at the fencline of the facility Data collected from the monitors must be collected in real time. This data must be reported to the EPA to report on the hazardous conditions of the Air Quality coming from the facility This would help strengthen the community directly by being able to directly get reports on the hazardous industrial pollutants being emitted and released into the community. This Bill would also require an increase in the number of inspections by the EPA to insure the emissions in the monitors is indeed correct and true. This is critical for those living near BWXT by giving them the ability to receive information about the air quality coming from the facility. The only debate on the Bill is what are the immediate actions of the EPA on the facility should it find that indeed there are violations of air quality by the facility. This is what needs to be debated and I will be fighting for you and the community to insure that only the cleanest air quality is acceptable by the EPA and the community

Okay guys today's topic. Clean Water. There are currently a couple of House Bills that target this exact issue. It just needs to go through committee and then get voted on. HR 3034 Water Quality Standard Attainability Act addresses this topic although it is being pushed to the Transportation and Infrastructure committee as part of it's attention. If you think about it we indeed need to address the infrastructure of our country and especially here in District 1. I have heard these last few months about constant problems with water treatment centers. Pushing the modernization of our water treatment centers only makes sense. Then share is HR 3988. This Bill is called Water Quality Criteria Development and Transparency Act would address exactly the need for our communities to keep us advised of any issues with our water as we send it to our community to drink and use for personal use. We must never allow our infrastructure to get so behind that water because a cost of simply living. Putting measures in place to protect water would seem a bipartisan issue and I will do all I can to keep our water safe to drink and use

Today's topic Family and Medical Insurance Leave Act. This Bill should be a bipartisan issue to protect families when they have a family issue come up that requires them to leave their place of work to take care of family. This could be requiring the employee to ask for time off for the birth of a child or the need to take care of a sick relative Or simply taking time off to settle other personal issues. By providing up to 12 weeks to address the issue with a guarantee of partial payment will help the employee manage through what otherwise could be a difficult time. Putting penalties in place to the employer for noncompliance of the Family leave and Medical Insurance Leave Act would guarantee that the employee would have no distractions from taking care of the family and guarantee that they would be able to return to work once the leave is at it's end

Okay guys. Today's topic. Unemployment Insurance. At one of the stops I made a gentleman told me that one of the issues he was concerned with in Rogersville was a concern with people that when you ask them what do you do for a living they responded with I Draw. I wondered what was that mean. I soon found out that what they meant was they were unemployed and just drawing unemployment for a living. First off if you actually have a need to have unemployment payments just to survive I support passing the Unemployment Insurance Modernization and Recession Readiness Act. This Bill would all an employee that does lose their job up to 75% of their weekly earnings. It would also eliminate the one week wait period so they could receive money right away. Of course people would ask why continue giving money to people so they could not work? Part of the need to address is making sure that not only are people on unemployment actively looking for employment but if the necessity arises then these people receive training to help the individual more rapidly be able to succeed in getting employment. Unemployment should not be a way of life so we should do everything we can to help people to eventually become productive members of society
