As EMS Week comes to a close, we want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for the dedication, strength, compassion, and professionalism you bring every single day. The work you do is not easy, and the sacrifices you make for your communities and for one another never go unnoticed.

You miss holidays, family dinners, sleep, important moments, and time with the people you love so that others can receive help during some of the hardest moments of their lives. You show up in difficult conditions, long hours, and emotionally heavy situations with courage, skill, and heart. That kind of commitment takes a truly special person.

Each and every one of you is a vital part of this team, and we would not be where we are today without you. Whether you are on the front lines, behind the scenes, or supporting your coworkers through challenging days, your contribution matters deeply and helps make Newport Ambulance Service what it is today.

Thank you for your sacrifices, your resilience, your compassion, and the care you provide every day. Most importantly, thank you for being there for each other and for your communities when it matters most.

We are incredibly proud and grateful to have each of you as part of the NAS/NEMS family. 🚑

As we continue to celebrate EMS week, we would like to recognize our Paramedic, Kurt Poulin. Kurt began his career in Health Care as a LNA in 1983. Kurt’s EMS career began in 1993 with Shelburne rescue. July 1st, of 2003, Kurt was hired as one of the first employees for Northern EMS. In his free time, Kurt enjoys spending time with family and playing golf. Kurt, thank you for your 32 years of service in EMS! You have been with us since the beginning. You bring calm to chaos, you are always willing to share your knowledge, and you truly look out for your EMS partners.

Desirae began her EMS career in 2021 obtaining her EMR license through Green Mountain Technology and Career Center. While in her senior year of high school, Desirae went on to her EMT. Shortly after, she went on to become an AEMT taking her advanced class through Fairfax rescue. Today Desirae is a Paramedic ! We couldn’t be more proud of Desirae and all of her accomplishments. When Desirae is enjoying her free time you will find her on the beach, shopping, or taking a trip to Dunkin for an iced coffee. Happy EMS week Desirae !!! Thank you for all you do for EMS and NEMS.

Happy first day of EMS week! As we go through the week, we’d like to introduce you to our crews!

AEMT, Alexis Estrada began her career in EMS in 2019 in Pinal County Arizona. Recently, Alexis moved to Montpelier Vermont. When Alexis isn’t busy at work she loves to be outdoors, live music, and doing as much traveling and exploring as possible. We are excited to have Alexis join us at NEMS! Thank you for all you do, Alexis! Happy EMS Week!
