Vermont Studio Center hosts a global community within a historic, pastoral village of Johnson, VT. Our walkable campus provides private studios, dining hall, and private rooms in shared lodging along the banks of the Gihon River.

Residents can explore swimming holes, hiking and biking trails, as well as the rural charm of neighboring towns, while expanding their creative potential and building a creative community.

Experience VSC on Sunday, September 20th from 1-4pm!

Tour open studios, groove to some live music, and learn how to dye fabric during our Community Dye Day! There will be opportunities for flower imprints, resist techniques and full dye vats. Items will be available for free and purchase for dying. Visitors are also welcome to bring clean items from home for dying. Come experiment with us! Enjoy refreshments from Ben & Jerry’s and The Alchemist while exploring all that VSC has to offer.

Each year, the Windgate Craft Artist Fellowship supports traditional craft artists with a fully funded residency at Vermont Studio Center.

Thank you to Papyrus: Leading Museum Built Environment for featuring our Helen Frankenthaler Foundation Climate Initiative award in their August edition. The article discusses the Frankenthaler investment in art organizations to improve the climate resiliency of buildings. Our grant award supports the Bradley Studio Complex which will restore resident amenities and studios lost in the 2023 flood.
