There is no way I could ever say thank you enough or show my gratitude to everyone who voted for us, encouraged us, and openly and quietly campaigned on our behalf.

It's bittersweet to have gone "against" Alesha. It’s very disappointing to pour so much time and energy into something and not see the outcome you hoped for. No one can say she didn't work stinkin hard during her campaign and that work ethic is what I am looking forward to working alongside. I will have to rely on her experience and expertise a lot along with all the awesome ladies at the Assessor's office.

This has been an incredibly humbling journey. There is no way we could have survived without the support of all of our family and friends. Above all thanks to my sweet Ellie for her patience and dedication to me throughout this whole thing. She knocked doors with me being 9 months into carrying our baby boy, went to countless events with me, all while taking care of me and bringing Calum into this world and caring for him too. She is the love of my life and the apple of my eye. Love you darlin.

Thank you, Johnson County, for placing your faith in me. I pray that God grants me the wisdom to serve this position, and the people, with the respect and integrity they deserve.

Words are poor messengers to express my appreciation for all the support throughout this campaign. It's been extremely humbling.

The last few months have been grueling on all the candidates and their families, but from that comes a sense of respect for those going through it . . .

Derrick Damon had the support of ALL of his family through it all. You always saw Derrick with them right behind him at events, holding signs and I know a lot more behind the scenes things that we didn't see. His close knit family speaks to the most important job we have in this life and that's building our homes on Godly principles and spending time with our children to bring them up in the way they should go. I pray I will have the wisdom to do the same with my family.

Rosa Clokey is a very special lady in and of herself. Two weeks after Calum was born, she came TO our house to congratulate us and bring us a baby gift. Her husband, Rod, brought me breakfast yesterday during election day, who does that! The Clokeys too are an outstanding example of Christianity in treating even your "enemies" with love and kindness (we're not enemies).

Making the runoff with Alesha is a double-edged sword. She and I have gotten a lot closer during this campaign (sorry again for Cal puking on you so much yesterday). We both have to ask for your support one more time during the runoff but I'm happy with however it turns out. Good luck to my buddy Alesha and lets get this thing over with!
