🚨 Retirement Alert! 🚨
Congratulations to Staff Sergeant (SSG) Ryan Martin on his retirement from the Iowa Army National Guard after having served for 20 years. Thank you to all of the friends, family, distinguished guests, and attendees who helped celebrate SSG Martin’s retirement.
In 2004, SSG Martin enlisted and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Upon completion of OSUT, SSG Martin was assigned to the 186th Military Police Company. In 2005, SSG Martin was activated and sent to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, in support of the Hurricane Katrina Relief. In 2007, SSG Martin was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
Over the years, SSG Martin has held various reserve and Active Guard Reserve (AGR) positions with his assigned units to include the following:
• Admin NCO, Training NCO, Assistant Operations Officer, and Mobilization Officer for the 186th Military Police Company
• Unit Supply Sergeant for the 1034th Composite Supply Company
• Unit Supply Sergeant and Knowledge/Training Manager for the 734th Regional Support Group
• 1st Platoon Sergeant, Operations NCO, and Senior Property Book Officer for the 3655th Classification and Inspection Company
In recognition of his years of exemplary service and dedication, SSG Martin was presented with the following during his retirement ceremony:
• Roll of Retired Enlisted Personnel Certificate
• Presidential Certificate of Appreciation
• Flag display case with flag from the Joint Force Headquarters
• Plaque with the Military Police branch insignia from the 186th Military Police Company
