I think it’s easy to say these three brothers had a night they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. When they stepped outside and spotted the patrol car filled with all their favorite things like Legos, board games, action figures, brand new bikes, and even a basketball hoop complete with a basketball, as they froze for a moment, trying to figure out if this was real or just the world’s greatest Christmas dream.

Their shock only grew when they learned that members of the Fulton County PBA had come straight to their home to make their Christmas wish lists come to life. And once that trunk opened, the fun began. The boys were trying to claim gifts as fast as they could, rushing each one into the house.

But the best part of the entire night wasn’t the toys, it was the genuine, overflowing “thank yous” that came from these boys without anyone having to ask. You could feel how much it meant to them.

Without question, it was a night these brothers will carry with them forever.

Again, the PBA would not be able to give back in this way without the incredible partnership of the Gloversville Walmart and the generous grant provided by Walmart Distribution. Their support helps make the magic happen and ensures our patrol cars stay fully stocked with Christmas cheer.

Merry Christmas boys!

This week at BP, three students cashed in their hard earned Patriot Bucks to participate in the Junior Deputy Program, created by Deputy Buckley at the Elementary School. Patriot Bucks, usually spent at the school store or on special privileges, were put to excellent use as each student “bought into” this unique experience. Thanks to the PTO’s generosity, every Junior Deputy also received an official T-shirt to complete the look.

Their day included riding in the patrol vehicle, helping run morning radar to keep an eye on any over-eager drivers in the school zone, and enjoying lunch with Deputy Buckley. And when the weather finally cooperates, each student will even get the chance to ride the motorized police motorcycle, “lights, sirens, and all the excitement that comes with it.

The Junior Deputy Program was created to give students meaningful one on one time with their SRO and to build positive, lasting connections. These small interactions truly make a big impact. Plus, Deputy Buckley now has three new deputies who are very serious about traffic safety. Keep up the great work, Deputy Buckley!
