🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE 🚧

Please be advised that several road closures will be in effect this Saturday, June 27th, from 7:00AM to 7:00 PM for the The Toying Around Block Party event hosted by Toying Around.

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, the following roads and parking areas will be temporarily closed:

*West Main Street from Perry Street to South William Street
*North Market Street from Church Street to West Main Street
*South Market Street from Colonial Court to West Main Street

🦺ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE – Townsend Ave

The Department of Public Works would like to notify residents of a road closure due to the replacement of a storm sewer pipe.

The following roadways will be closed to through traffic:
• Townsend Avenue from Fisher Avenue to North Perry Street
• Collingwood Avenue from the intersection of Parkwood Avenue and Collingwood Avenue to Townsend Avenue

This closure is expected to remain in effect through the remainder of the week while construction activities are completed.

Please see the attached map for the road closure area.
Any updates or changes to the schedule will be posted next week.

The Fulton Montgomery Farmers Market Association is excited to kick off another season of the Johnstown Farmer's Market beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, June 23rd!

Join local farmers, artisans, and vendors every Tuesday from June through October, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at Briggs Street & Jansen Avenue in the Johnstown Recreational Park.

Shop for fresh, locally grown produce, handmade goods, baked treats, and more while supporting local agriculture and small businesses. Residents and visitors alike are invited to enjoy this weekly community tradition throughout the season.

📍 Location: Corner of Briggs Street & Jansen Avenue, Johnstown Recreational Park

Please be advised that several road closures will be in effect this Friday, June 19th, from 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM for the CARS ON MAIN STREET event hosted by Second Wind Coffee
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, the following roads and parking areas will be temporarily closed:

🚗 Closed Roadways
West Main Street from Perry Street to South William Street
North Market Street from Church Street to West Main Street
South Market Street from Colonial Court to West Main Street

🅿️ Closed Parking Lots
The two parking lots adjacent to the bandshell will also be unavailable for parking during the event timeframe.

The boil water advisory for Wells Street, from W. State Street to Warren Street, has been lifted following satisfactory water quality test results.

Door tags are currently being distributed to the residents who were previously affected by the advisory.

The City thanks residents for their patience and cooperation during this process.

At last night's Common Council Meeting, Mayor Amy Praught read a proclamation recognizing June 2026 as LGBTQ+ Pride Month in the City of Johnstown. The proclamation states:

WHEREAS, the City of Johnstown is strengthened by the diversity of its residents and the many contributions they make to our community; and

WHEREAS, Pride Month serves as both a celebration and a time of reflection—honoring the courage, resilience, and contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals, recognizing the struggles they have endured throughout history, and reaffirming the importance of treating all people with dignity, respect, and compassion; and

WHEREAS, LGBTQ+ individuals help enrich our neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, places of worship, businesses, and civic life, contributing to the strength and character of our community; and

WHEREAS, the City of Johnstown believes that every person deserves to be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect, and that a strong community is built when all people feel welcome and valued;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Amy Praught, Mayor of the City of Johnstown, New York, do hereby proclaim the month of June 2026 as Pride Month in the City of Johnstown, New York, and encourage all residents to reflect upon the importance of treating one another with kindness and respect, and continue fostering a city where every person is welcomed, valued, and empowered to participate fully in community life.

Boil Water Advisory - Wells St., from W. State St. to Warren St. (two blocks total)

Those households have already been notified directly and received boil water advisory door hangers.

Water quality testing is underway; results may take up to three (3) days. Once testing is cleared, updated door hangers will be distributed to the affected homes.
