This past Saturday Conemaugh Township EMS board of directors and management put together an afternoon of fun, fellowship and recognition to our employees their families while for the first time in our history joining the entire Conemaugh Township EMS family together for one amazing and memorable event!

Special Thanks to board member Paul Weygandt for hosting us while providing such a beautiful place to hold this awesome event! It really made the event so much nicer. Thank you! 😉

It was a beautiful day brought together by lots of laughs, smiles and unforgettable memories! 😊

To our eldest guest 89 year old Pat Sleek a former Conemaugh Township EMS board member who dedicated 24 years of her life to seeing the growth and prosperity of our wonderful service!

But the Cherry on top was a beautiful moment of recognition for Paramedic Heidi Jo Draeger for her 30 years of dedication to our company! What a true admirable feat that has paved the way for others!

We wanted to share a little bit of the day with you and remind our staff how much they are loved and appreciated. While showing our appreciation to our leaders for everything that they do to help boost the moral of our dedicated team! ❤️❤️❤️

Today we're celebrating one of the good ones! Chris, thank you for your dedication, compassion, sense of humor, and the countless ways you've made a difference for our patients and our community over the years.

Whether he's answering the call, lending a helping hand, or finding a way to make everyone around him smile, Chris is always ready to jump into action... and judging by this picture, sometimes he takes the scenic route! 😄

Dave Boyer dedicated 44 years to the fire service after joining in 1982. He served as Fire Chief of the Hollsopple Volunteer Fire Department (Station 621). Following the merger with Scalp Level Paint Volunteer Fire Company (Station 616) in 2010, Dave was appointed Deputy Chief. In 2025, when Scalp Level Paint 616 and Windber Fire Company 611 merged, Dave was named Assistant Chief 203 (203AC), a position he proudly held until his passing.

During the early years of the Somerset County Search and Rescue Team (SAR Team 400), Dave served in a leadership role while remaining a dedicated member throughout the years. Dave also served as the Safety Officer for Somerset County Water Rescue Team 670.

In addition, Dave held a very special place in the hearts of our Conemaugh Township EMS family and we are devastated and heart broken at the loss of a wonderful and dedicated person. He will no doubt be missed!

Dave was always willing to lend a helping hand, answer the call, and serve his community with unwavering dedication. His friendship, leadership, and commitment touched countless lives, and his legacy will live on in everyone who had the privilege of serving beside him.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Daves surviving family and friends and our family at Northern Regional Fire Dept "200", Somerset County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team 400 and Somerset County Water Rescue Team 670. Rest in peace Dave! 🙏
