The start of another Communications project.

New antennas are being installed on the tower at Northville Fire Department. This project will help with a gap in coverage in the Northville area, especially in the village itself.

This is just the first phase of the project. Additional equipment will be installed in the building in coming weeks.

This project was made possible utilizing some of the $993,000.00 in funds obtained through the NY State Interoperable Communication Grant Program. The grant was written, obtained and is being managed by the Emergency Management Office.

Great Work by Berkshire Fire and their Mutual Aid partners, stopping this fire basically where it was when they arrived.

At 1:58 Berkshire Volunteer Fire Department was activated for a working structure fire. Upon arrival Pleasant Square Fire Company and Mayfield Fire Department - New York were requested to the scene with tankers and interior firefighters. Lake Valley EMS was on standby for rehab.
The fire did extend into the roof but the fire was quickly under control, no one was injured and animals were saved.
Berkshire would like to extend a huge Thank You to all our members, our Auxiliary ladies, our mutual aid departments and the Fulton County Emergency Management / Fire Coordinators Office county coordinators.
