A HUGE and heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our members who showed up in force for our Annual Post Cleanup!

I tried to tag everyone that helped, please know if I missed you your not following the JM Post Page! (Dustin 🤪) or I don’t know you handle. Or you’re not on Facebook. At any rate just know we seen you and we love and appreciate you all for coming.

It was incredible to see so many people roll up their sleeves, pitch in, and take pride in the place we all call our home away from home.

Our Post is more than just a building. It’s where we gather, serve our community, share stories, honor those who came before us, and enjoy the camaraderie that makes this organization special. Keeping it looking its best takes teamwork, and today our members absolutely delivered.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy, sweat, and probably a few sore muscles to get the Post cleaned up and ready for the busy fall and holiday season ahead.

Many hands truly do make light work, and today was a perfect example of what can happen when our Post family comes together.

We appreciate every single one of you. 🇺🇸

Fall is right around the corner, and that means FOOTBALL, FAMILY, FOOD, FELLOWSHIP & THE HOLIDAY SEASON! 🏈🍂

Before the busy season kicks into high gear, we need OUR MEMBERS to roll up their sleeves and help get the JM Post ready!

This Post is more than a building.

It’s where we gather.
It’s where we serve.
It’s where we laugh, eat, work, remember, celebrate, and look out for one another.

For many of us, it’s our home away from home.

So Sunday morning, we’re calling on members of VFW Post 2585, American Legion Post 70, our Auxiliaries, Sons Squadron 70, and the entire JM Post family to SHOW UP and PITCH IN.

🔥 FOURTH FRIDAY FEAST IS BACK! 🔥

This Friday, August 28th, American Legion Post 70 is taking over the kitchen at the JM Post, and we’re bringing a little German-style goodness to Johnstown/Milliken! 🇺🇸

🍽️ YOUR CHOICE:
🐷 Pork Schnitzel
🐔 Chicken Schnitzel

Loaded up with:
🥔 Mashed potatoes & gravy
🫛 Green beans
🥖 Dinner roll

Or ditch the plate, grab a bun, and turn that schnitzel into one heck of a sandwich!

👧 Children’s Half Plate: $7.50

🚪 Doors open at 5:00 PM
⏰ Serving until 7:30 PM OR SOLD OUT

And judging by what happened at the last Fourth Friday Feast, that “or sold out” part isn’t decorative. 😏

Come hungry. Bring the family. Bring your friends. Bring that one buddy who claims they “aren’t that hungry” and then starts stealing mashed potatoes off everybody’s plate.

🇺🇸 ATTENTION VETERANS… IT’S TIME TO SETTLE A DEBATE! 🍽️

Every branch swears they had the best food. Every other branch knows they’re wrong. 😎

🪖 Army: Chow Hall. Coffee thick enough to patch potholes and an NCO making sure you ate your vegetables.

⚓ Navy: Mess Hall. Fresh bread, midnight chow, and somehow ice cream… while floating in the middle of the ocean.

🌎 Marines: Chow Hall. You had exactly 4½ minutes to eat. If it was hot, you were winning.

🦅 Air Force: Dining Facility. Let’s be honest… some of you thought Basic Training was an all-inclusive resort. Omelet bar, salad station, and fresh muffins? The rest of us called that the Ramada. 😏

🚤 Coast Guard: Galley. The menu depended on what the ocean was feeling that day… but somehow you still managed to eat better than the Army.

🚀 Space Force: Dining Facility. Be honest… do you even have enough years under your belt to have a “favorite chow hall meal,” or are you still building the memories? 😆

First things first… YOU made this event a success! ❤️🇺🇸

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out, grabbed dinner, had some fun, and supported our veterans. The friendly rivalry between J-Town and Milliken brought plenty of laughs, great conversations, and even better food.

Now for the results…

Here’s the best part…

At the end of the night, there wasn’t really a loser.

The J-Town Cheesesteak may have taken home the bragging rights, but both sandwiches were a huge hit, and the real winner was our community. Every sandwich purchased helped support the American Legion, the JM Post, and the veterans and community we proudly serve.

Thank you for embracing our completely made-up rivalry, talking a little smack, having a lot of laughs, and showing up for a great cause.

Congratulations, J-Town! 🏆

Milliken… we’ll see you at the rematch. 😉🇺🇸
