When you sponsor a Patriot Pair, one wreath will be placed on a veteran's headstone at a participation WAA location this December, and a second wreath will be sent to the address of your choice to be displayed as you choose.

It is a great option if you're looking to participate on National Wreaths Across America Day and remember the service of a veteran in your family, honor the sacrifice of a military family you know, or teach others about the Wreaths Across America mission at a business or at home.

May we never forget

On September 11, 2001, eight pilots were at the controls of four scheduled flights. They began the morning as aviation professionals doing the work they had trained for, flying passengers across the country.

American Airlines Flight 11: Captain John Ogonowski and First Officer Thomas McGuinness.
United Airlines Flight 175: Captain Victor Saracini and First Officer Michael Horrocks.
American Airlines Flight 77: Captain Charles Burlingame and First Officer David Charlebois.
United Airlines Flight 93: Captain Jason Dahl and First Officer LeRoy Homer Jr.

They came from different backgrounds and brought years of training and experience to the cockpit. Several had served in the U.S. military. They were captains and first officers, colleagues and family members, with lives that extended far beyond the uniforms they wore and the aircraft they flew.

Today, we remember Captain John Ogonowski, First Officer Thomas McGuinness, Captain Victor Saracini, First Officer Michael Horrocks, Captain Charles Burlingame, First Officer David Charlebois, Captain Jason Dahl, and First Officer LeRoy Homer Jr.

Eight pilots. Eight names. Eight lives. We remember them all.✈️💙

As we remember that morning, we also remember the people behind these names—the families, friends, colleagues, and loved ones who have carried their memory forward for 25 years. May they never be forgotten.

Today, and always, we remember them with respect. We honor their lives, their service to aviation, and the memories they left behind. ✈️💙

REMINDER: Join us for a free event on Friday, September 11, at 6:00 p.m. at Veterans Park for a special Patriot Grave Marker Ceremony, Open House, and Unveiling of an authentic Hessian Drum from 1777.

We will be honoring the Revolutionary War veterans whose graves remain on the grounds of the former 6th Street Cemetery.
The evening’s program will include a presentation of colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, a keynote speaker, a reading of Patriot names, the placement of flowers, a musket salute, and Taps.

Before the ceremony, we invite you to visit the Sherwood-Davidson Museum during our Open House from 5:00–6:00 p.m.

The museum will feature an authentic Hessian Drum from 1777, used during the Revolutionary War, captured at the Battle of Saratoga, and later used during the War of 1812, the Civil War, the Mexican Wars, and World War I.

Admission is FREE!
