This summer, our incredible technology department is hard at work behind the scenes to make sure day one of the next school year runs flawlessly.

Here is a sneak peek at their summer checklist:

πŸ’» 1,000+ Chromebooks collected from the elementary carts, middle school students, and graduating seniors (currently being cleaned, updated, and repaired!)
πŸ’» Teacher device tune-ups so our educators have the power they need on day one
πŸ’» Infrastructure upgrades and prep work across the entire district

Huge shout-out to our technology department of Mr. Roberts and Mr. Young, who are turning gears while everyone else is recharging. We appreciate you! πŸ™ŒπŸ”§

🌟 MORE THAN JUST ATHLETES 🌟
From the scoreboard to the community, our student-athletes are making an impact everywhere they go! It’s been an action-packed couple of weeks of hard work, leadership, and giving back.

Here is a look at what our Football, Basketball, and Volleyball teams have been up to:

πŸ’ͺ Practice & Play: Putting in the grit, sweat, and hours on the field/court to stay at the top of their game.

πŸŽ’ Inspiring the Future: Leading the youth summer camps and mentoring the next generation of athletes with high energy and big smiles!

🀝 Serving the Community: Off the field, our players have been out volunteering and giving back to the community.

It takes immense dedication to balance training, leadership, and service, but these young men and women make it look easy. We couldn't be prouder of the character, heart, and pride they bring to Northridge!

This past Tuesday, Northridge High School teacher Mrs. Roberts was selected for the OSLN Hall of Inspiration at the Ohio STEM Innovation Summit! πŸš€ Representing the Central OSLN Hub, she showcased the Spark Foundry project from her OSLN grant this past school year.

STEM Meets Entrepreneurship πŸ’‘
The broad purpose of Spark Foundry is to empower students with critical 21st-century skills, fostering innovation, practical problem-solving, and a deep understanding of how STEM concepts drive real-world business solutions. This initiative seamlessly connects our CTE Business Pathway (and our upcoming CTE Interactive Media Pathway next school year!), allowing students to transform abstract skills into a professional identity.

🀝 Partner With Us!
We are looking for local businesses and entrepreneurs to join our Business Advisory Group, mentor students, or partner on projects. Want to help shape the future workforce? Reach out directly to Laura Roberts ([email protected]) to get involved!

School’s out, but the work doesn’t stop! πŸš§β˜€οΈ

Check out the progress on the new concrete work happening around the High School building. We are upgrading our walkways to ensure everything is safe, smooth, and looking its best for everyone's return in the fall.

We will post progress pictures as the work continues.

🌎 Where in the world are our Northridge students and staff?!

Let's take a look at what Elementary students, Silas and Remi have been up to.

Silas and Remi spent their first week of summer break exploring the Adirondacks in Upstate New York. Highlights included Artist Thomas Dambo’s Troll exhibit at the Wild Center - where trolls help humans reconnect with nature! They got to see different Olympic venues including the β€œmiracle on ice” arena in Lake Placid. Lots of hiking - Remi’s favorite was St. Regis Mountain because it had a fire tower to climb and Silas enjoyed Wright Peak because it was his 5th high peak!

πŸ“’ Keep sharing your summer adventures Northridge students and staff! Wherever you may be, snap some pictures, tell us where you have taken a summer vacation, and submit it to [email protected] and you will be featured this summer!

🧹✨ A massive shout out to our incredible custodial crew, who are working hard behind the scenes at the middle school to get everything ready for next year. Cleaning lockers to playing a high-stakes game of school furniture Tetris, these superstars are putting our building back together piece by piece.

From heavy lifting to showing off those legendary "air-mopping" skills, this team defines what it means to lend a helping hand and have some fun while doing it. We are so grateful for everything they do! πŸͺ£πŸ’ͺ

Now that the paint is drying, it’s finally time to let the Viking out of the bag!
As you can see, our high school gym is getting a bold, modern update to inspire the next generation of students and athletes.

While we are excited to usher in this new era, we want to deeply honor our roots. We know how much the original artwork and traditions mean to our incredible alumni and community. Change isn't about forgetting our historyβ€”it's about building on it. Every victory on this court stands on the foundation laid by the generations of Vikings who came before us.

This new look represents the ongoing story of our school: a proud legacy carried from the past, lived in the present, and passed on to the future.

Thank you to our community for keeping our spirit strong. Once a Viking, always a Viking! πŸ’šπŸ€

πŸŽ‰ Help us welcome a very familiar face to a brand-new role! We are thrilled to announce that Sean Smith is moving from the Middle School to become our Northridge Elementary School Principal for the 2026-2027 school year! πŸ«πŸ’šπŸ€

He is excited to join forces with Assistant Principal Ashley Ramsey to support our youngest Vikings. 🀝✨

Known for being highly visible at arrival, dismissal, and lunch, Principal Smith brings a wealth of administrative experience and a strong commitment to our community. His goals for the elementary center on open communication, collaboration, P.B.I.S., and celebrating students who live out our 7 Viking Values! 🌟

Please join us in wishing him the absolute best in this exciting new chapter at NRES!πŸ«πŸ’šπŸ€
