I want to see more “OPEN” signs and fewer “FOR LEASE” signs. 💚

Our small businesses are part of what makes our communities feel like home.

It’s the coffee shop that knows your order. The restaurant where you run into your neighbors. The family who took a chance, opened their doors, and built something from the ground up.

Those are the people I want Illinois fighting for.

Because when it becomes too expensive or too difficult to do business here, we don’t just lose a business. We lose jobs. We lose opportunity. We lose another piece of our community.

I want people to be excited to open a business here. Proud to grow it here. And confident they can build a future here.

Illinois shouldn’t be giving businesses reasons to leave. We should be giving them reasons to stay. 💚

Congratulations to Alessio Milivojevic on earning the starting quarterback job for the Spartans. Alessio is from Naperville and calls District 97 home.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Bishops Hill Winery. I’m so grateful for every person who came out and continues to stand with this campaign.

A very special thank you to Scott Gryder, Janet Mikuska, and Mike Mikuska for helping make this evening possible. Your support, friendship, and commitment to this campaign mean more than I can say.

There is so much we can do differently in Springfield to better serve everyday residents and families. That is why I’m running, and why having all of you beside me means so much.

Thank you all for an incredible night and for continuing to believe in this campaign.

Sometimes a simple reminder can mean more than we know. 💜🩵

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month.

Check in on your people. Make the phone call. Send the text. Ask how someone is doing and take the time to listen.

Life can be hard. We all go through seasons when things feel heavier than others. But even in those moments, there is hope. There are people who care. And there are brighter days ahead.

If you are struggling right now, please reach out. You do not have to have all the answers. You do not have to carry everything by yourself.

One of my favorite parts of this campaign is getting out and seeing every part of District 97.

Our farms, open spaces, and the families who care for them are an important part of the community we call home.

Every door. Every conversation. And apparently a few new four legged friends along the way. 💚

Team Shanahan showed up BIG today! 💚

A huge thank you to Representative Regan for Illinois for coming out and hitting the doors with us today. Having leaders from across Illinois willing to show up, put in the work, and support what we’re building here in District 97 means a lot.

And what a turnout from Team Shanahan!

Doors knocked. Neighbors met. Conversations had.

This campaign keeps growing because of people who believe District 97 deserves better and are willing to work for it.

Thank you to every single person who came out today.
