A proud day for school safety in Illinois. Our Executive Director of School Safety, Theresa Ward, joined Lori Alhadeff and school safety leaders at Richland Square Elementary School as Illinois became the 13th state to pass Alyssa’s Law.

The Will County Regional Office of Education was honored to be invited to be part of this important moment.

Our second annual truancy summit is off to a great start. We have dozens of administrators from all over Will County, as well as representatives from the Will County State's Attorney's office, Aunt Martha's, Judge Garcia, and more.

The Will County Regional Office of Education is happy to celebrate the exciting renovation of Gompers School! We are all thrilled to see this incredible work come to life and can’t wait to see all that happens within these newly renovated spaces.

Thank you to the Joliet Police Department for hosting another incredible National Night Out! It was a fantastic evening bringing our community together and helping families get ready for a great school year.

A special thank you to our Executive Director of School Safety, Theresa Ward, for representing the Will County Regional Office of Education and helping distribute more than 300 back-to-school supplemental items to local families.

Thank you to all the vendors, volunteers, community partners, and families who joined us for the Will County Regional Office of Education’s Second Annual Backpack Giveaway!

In just under three hours, we distributed more than 600 backpacks, served meals to 600 people, and connected Crete-area families with valuable health and wellness resources.

We are grateful to everyone who helped make this event such a success and supported our students as they prepare for the new school year, including the Will County Sheriff's Office, Anthony DeLuca , Birth to Five Illinois: Region 56, Will County Health Department & Community Health Center, Joliet Job Corps, Village of Monee, University Park Lions, Crete-Monee School District 201-U, Patrick Jones for Will County Sheriff, and The Taco Man

Our next backpack giveaway will be held Wednesday, August 6, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Brooks Middle School in Bolingbrook. We hope to see you there!

We're down to our last few backpacks! 🎒

In just under three hours, we've been able to serve 600 students in Crete! Thank you to everyone who came out and to all of the volunteers and supporters who made today possible. It's been an incredible day of serving our community! 💙
