Illinois Against MAGA is taking action to stop pro-ICE, MAGA donors from buying a U.S. Senate seat in Illinois. We are exposing Raja Krishnamoorthi’s financial ties to MAGA interests and ICE contractors and holding him accountable to Illinois values.

Public reporting by the Chicago Sun-Times shows Krishnamoorthi accepted nearly $100,000 from Trump and MAGA donors, and that reporting is only the tip of the iceberg.

Raja Krishnamoorthi brands himself as anti-MAGA, but his donor list tells a different story. The pattern is clear: Krishnamoorthi talks progressive politics while continuing to benefit from MAGA-aligned and ICE-linked money—putting his credibility and priorities at odds with Illinois values. Illinois voters will not allow pro-ICE, MAGA donors to use their money to decide who represents us in the United States Senate.

Last year, the Illinois legislature funded the creation of the Pretrial Success Grant Program. Rolled out as a pilot program in five counties, the Pretrial Success Grant Program is bolstering the success of people who are released pretrial, thanks to the Pretrial Fairness Act, by expanding access to vital services like transportation and child care so they can attend court and providing resources for mental health, substance use disorder and other needs.

Since this program launched, the Trump administration has taken significant steps to dismantle the social safety net, making the Pretrial Success Grant Program more important than ever. By addressing the underlying challenge that may have brought people into contact with the criminal legal system in the first place, the Pretrial Success Grant Program can improve community safety and ensure people have the resources they need to succeed both during the court process and after their case concludes.

ICE and CBP are terrorizing our communities. AT&T is profiting from multimillion-dollar contracts with those agencies while they do so.

Their actions harm all of us. We have to hold AT&T accountable.

ICE has not only been terrorizing immigrants; they have also targeted Black communities with violence and violations of their constitutional and civil rights.

It’s unacceptable.

We refuse to let corporations make millions off of agencies whose armed, masked agents raid our neighborhoods in military vehicles—detaining people on sidewalks, near schools, and in their homes—while throwing tear gas canisters into the streets and shooting people with rubber bullets.

No one is safe when masked armed agents of the state without badges can drive armored vehicles around our neighborhoods talking people off the street, front yards, childcare centers, places of worship, and off school grounds.
