Many here likely know that Joliet Schools District 86 is building a new Gompers Middle School next to the current building. In the past week, the 1969 time capsule was recovered from a wall in the school and opened to reveal it's contents. Here's the Herald-News article with more info.The article mentions some of the interesting items and sounds like the contents will be displayed somewhere in the new Gompers building.
