READY, AIM, FIRE! 🎯

Who says a child’s toy can’t turn into some serious competition?! 😄 The other day at Eden Vista Rock Run MC, our residents took a simple toy and transformed it into a fun game of aim and accuracy!

We drew a target on the board, with points increasing the closer you got to the bullseye!

While all of our games are friendly and all about having fun, adding a little friendly competition can bring out a side of our residents that we don’t always get to see! The focus, determination, laughter, and excitement were on full display. ❤️

It’s amazing how something so simple can create so much fun, engagement, and plenty of bragging rights! 🏆

🎉🎂 Happy Birthday, August Ladies! 🎂🎉

Hello Eden Vista families & friends! 💕 Please take a moment to help us wish a very Happy Birthday to our wonderful ladies celebrating August birthdays — Marlyn T., Jean E., & Rosemary W.!

We spent the afternoon celebrating with all the things that make a birthday special — coffee, cake, great company, and plenty of music! ☕🍰🎶

Our residents enjoyed a concert tribute projected on the big screen honoring the one and only Patsy Cline! 🎤❤️ It was an afternoon filled with smiles, laughter, sweet treats, and wonderful memories.

Please join us in wishing Marlyn, Jean, and Rosemary a very happy birthday! 🎈🎂 We hope your special day was as wonderful as each of you!

Great Food, Great Company & Even Better Memories! 🍽️❤️

Today, we packed up the bus and headed out for a lunch outing to a Joliet favorite — Jameson’s!

Jean E., Gail, Mary, Jean S., Barb, Maxine, Flo, her son, and our wonderful staff all enjoyed a delicious meal, beautiful weather, and some much-needed time out and about! 🌞

There’s nothing better than good food shared with great company, and today was a perfect reminder that the best moments are often the simplest ones.

We’re already looking forward to our next adventure! 🚌✨

🥜🍌 HEALTH IS WEALTH! 🍌🥜

At Eden Vista Rock Run Memory Care, we believe healthy choices can be delicious AND fun! 💚

For our daily 2:30 PM snack today, we switched things up and treated our residents to Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothies! 🥤🍌🥜 A tasty combination packed with wholesome ingredients that made for the perfect afternoon pick-me-up.

Our smoothies were photographed, taste-tested, and officially approved by David, Jean & Vera! 😋

We skipped the honey and added a little cinnamon instead—and it was a hit! ✨

🎉🎂 A Day Full of Pampering, Birthday Celebrations & Summer Fun at Eden Vista Rock Run! 🎂☀️

Hi Rock Run families & friends! ❤️

We had such a fun-filled day at Rock Run! This morning, our residents enjoyed a relaxing Spa Day 💅✨ We made sure everyone’s nails were nice and clean, trimmed, and ready for some fresh polish!

This afternoon, we celebrated our wonderful August birthdays! 🎉🎂 Happy Birthday to Diane, Joan, Dorothy, Christine, Barb & Bernice! 🥳 We sang, laughed, enjoyed delicious Bundt cakes, and celebrated all of our amazing birthday girls!

After our birthday celebration, we got creative with an adorable art project! 🎨🕯️ Everyone colored their own candle, added their name, and then we gathered for a group photo in front of our birthday banner! 📸🎈

To wrap up our day, we made our way outside for some summer games and bubbles! 🫧☀️ Sometimes it’s the simple things—fresh air, sunshine, laughter, and a few bubbles—that make for the best memories! 💙

🎨🎶 A Sensory-Filled Afternoon at Eden Vista Rock Run MC! 🎶🎨

Today, our residents at Eden Vista Rock Run MC gathered for a calming and creative Light Music Sensory Painting activity. 💙

Our residents enjoyed gentle music while creating beautiful artwork using just a water brush and a dissolving art picture. As the water touched the picture, the colors and images slowly appeared, creating a simple yet engaging sensory experience. 💧🖌️✨

Activities like this can be especially meaningful for individuals experiencing memory loss or cognitive changes. Sensory activities provide opportunities to engage the senses without requiring complicated instructions or the need to remember specific steps. They can encourage focus, relaxation, self-expression, and a sense of accomplishment.

🎶 Light, familiar music can also help create a soothing environment, spark memories, encourage emotional connection, and promote relaxation. When paired with sensory art, music can help create an experience that is enjoyable, comforting, and accessible to residents at different cognitive abilities.

🍌🍨 No Split Decision Here! 🍨🍌

National Banana Split Day brought unanimous happiness to our residents at Eden Vista Rock Run AL! 💕 Our sweet treat was the perfect way to spend the afternoon while we reminisced about the one and only Dolly Parton 🎶 and listened to some of her greatest hits!

The fun continued with Book Club on our beautiful front porch! 🌿📚 We enjoyed a collection of short stories featuring thought-provoking debate questions that had everyone intrigued. Our residents shared their thoughts, opinions, and plenty of great conversation while enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

From banana splits to books, it was a day filled with sweet treats, sweet memories, fresh air, and great conversation! 🍌📖☀️❤️

⚾️ Chicago Crosstown Classic at Rock Run! ⚾️

What a game day! Our residents at Eden Vista Rock Run AL enjoyed watching the Cubs take on the White Sox in the final game of the series! 🐻⚾️

We enjoyed cold cola, refreshing cold beer 🍺, and fresh popcorn 🍿 while cheering on our teams. Unfortunately, the Sox got the better of the Cubs this time around!

And congratulations to Resident Nancy on winning the friendly wager! 🎉 She certainly had bragging rights today!
