Will County Community Development Working to build accessible, sustainable communities & quality affordable homes for all Join us in this mission!

The Community Development Division of Will County Land Use Department is a recipient of Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds including CDBG, HOME and ESG. In administering grant funds during the current plan 5-year HUD Consolidated Plan (2020-2024), we are committed to supporting the Fair Housing Act and the HUD mission and aspire to “build strong, sustainable, inclusive communi

ties and quality affordable homes for all”

Strong, sustainable and inclusive communities include diverse housing options, grounded in a safe built environment and connected to a network of healthy food options, health care, education, jobs, transportation, and open space. By focusing on housing, the mission is aligned with HUD, which seeks to utilize housing as a platform for improving quality of life. We utilize a fair housing initiative called We WILL Build Equal Opportunity Housing & Communities for community development education and outreach.

Your input is the foundation of this plan. Here's how to share it.

GUIDE WILL is Will County's update to its Land Resource Management Plan, the long-range blueprint guiding decisions on housing, jobs, farmland, open space, transportation, and infrastructure.

Take the GUIDE WILL Visioning Survey. Tell us what the County must prioritize in the years ahead. Your responses directly shape the guiding principles and policies in the updated plan.

Add your ideas to the interactive comment map. Pin specific locations across the County, highlight places you love, flag areas that need improvement, and identify gaps in transportation or infrastructure.

Both tools are open to all and available at https://guidewill.co/ Learn more, subscribe for updates, and stay involved.
