Summer is the perfect time for military teens to get connected, stay engaged, and build skills that will carry them far beyond the season. Your installation’s CYS Youth Center offers a safe, supervised, and inspiring environment where young people can grow, lead, and thrive.

From leadership programs and volunteer opportunities to STEM activities, sports, arts, and college readiness support, the Youth Center helps teens discover their strengths and build confidence. It’s also a place where friendships grow; whether reconnecting with familiar faces or meeting new peers who understand the military lifestyle.

Many of our Military Youth of the Year finalists and winners began their journey simply by showing up, getting involved, and finding mentors who believed in them. The Youth Center can open doors to scholarships, leadership pathways, and experiences that shape a teen’s future.

This summer, give your teen the chance to explore, learn, and make memories in a place designed just for them. Encourage them to stop by your garrison CYS Youth Center and see what’s waiting for them.

☀️ June is almost here, and we’re kicking it off with two great family-friendly events at Fort Hunter Liggett!

🌱 Join the Cybrary’s Summer Reading Program Kickoff at Liggett Lanes from 3:30–5 p.m. for reading, flower potting, and a free game of bowling when you sign up.

🏡 Then stop by the Teen Center Open House from 5–6:30 p.m. to meet staff, update registrations, and learn about summer camp opportunities.

🎉 By popular demand, the Freedom Fest Soapbox Derby is adding an Adult Freestyle Division so some of our “older kids” can join in on the fun too. 🏁😂

The event will now feature both YOUTH CATEGORIES and the newly added ADULT FREESTYLE DIVISION, giving racers of all ages a chance to build, race, and show off their creativity.
