Wildhaven NC

Wildhaven NC Working to build a dream Micro-Farm & Intimate Forest Retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

In May of 2021, my husband Brian and I finally realized our decade-long dream of owning a piece of land in the NC mountains. We closed the deal on a once-junk-ridden commercial nursery, marking the occasion (not-so-coincidentally) on our 9th wedding anniversary. WILDHAVEN represents the culmination of our shared passion for the outdoors and restoration/conservation efforts. It's our little forest

oasis where I, Cassandra, can unleash my creativity through art and host women's retreats. Having been a professional photographer and entrepreneur for over a decade, this venture feels like a natural extension of my journey. Combined with Brian's enthusiasm for mountain biking, trail building (and hopes for a sanctuary of fluffy animals and growing things) Wildhaven is a forever work-in-progress...just like us.

After a week of rain, the first Sarah Bernhardt peonies finally opened this week. 🎉

I wish I could say I reacted like a calm, sophisticated adult… but apparently I’m still five years old when peonies bloom.

And honestly, maybe that’s part of what we’re building toward here this season.

More moments that interrupt the noise.
More childlike wonder.
More noticing.
More reasons for a day to feel fully alive

A little more awe.
A little more ease.

… tis’ the season

🔥2026 WILDFIRE GUEST CHEF ANNOUNCEMENT🔥

There are certain people whose work immediately feels aligned with the spirit of a place.

The first time we started talking with James Beard–nominated chef Alek Schober, Food & Beverage Director of Reid’s Café & Catering, The Beacon, and Betty’s Biscuits in the High Country — we knew.

Alek is an avid forager, deeply rooted in the landscapes and farms of Western North Carolina, and someone who cooks with both extraordinary skill and genuine reverence for ingredients, fire, and experience. His approach feels thoughtful, grounded, seasonal, and deeply alive — which is exactly what Wildfire has always hoped to be.

And honestly… we could not be more excited. (Reid's has long been a favorite of ours before we finally made these mountains official)

For those new here, Wildfire is our signature dining & gathering adventure beneath the stars — a fire-to-table evening built around live flame, remarkable food, music drifting through the fields, mountain air, glowing fires, botanical cocktail, local wine, and meaningful connection around the table.

Smoke curling through the night air. Whole vegetables blistering over open flame. Fire-kissed meats slowly roasting as glasses clink beneath candlelight and the mountains fade into dusk.

Come for the food and fire. Leave wondering why life doesn’t always feel this alive.

As a thank you to the people who have supported Wildhaven most deeply over the years, tickets were first quietly released to our VIP email community before public release. (if you are not on that list you can register on our website;-)

*Wildfire has sold out every season, and this year is moving even faster than expected: (thank you!!) Wildfire also serves as Wildhaven’s primary annual “farm raiser,” helping support ongoing land regeneration, conservation, restoration, and the continued evolution of this place we love so deeply.

• July 25 is down to just 5 remaining seats
• September 12 is already over half full

We truly can’t wait to gather around the fire with you again this season!

Cass & Brian

Cold air.
Hot water.
Things starting to bloom again.

Wildhaven in May.

The part you don’t always see here
is how many pieces are coming together at once.
The land.
The spaces.
The things we’re building into it this season.
Some of it’s ready.
Some of it’s close.
Some of it’s still taking shape.
But it’s not random.
It’s all starting to connect.🏡🛁🚿🔭🔥🌾

Some days you don’t 'do' much here.

And some days you end up within the walls of a this little sun-drenched space.

Making something beautiful.
Talking longer than you planned to.
Losing track of time a little.

That’s why we built this.

Meet Wildling.

It’s a lot right now.

There’s always something that needs to be finished.
Something behind.
Something not quite working yet.

And then every once in a while—

something cuts through all of the undone threads and madness.

Just for a minute.

Long enough to remember
what this place is actually becoming.

04/07/2026

In the time of ‘in-between.’
A lot of things not quite ready yet.
But if you stay with it long enough…
you start to notice what’s already there.
Small signs.
Quiet shifts.
Things waking and beginning. An energy. Becoming before they’re obvious.

It’s easy to miss.
But it’s there.
