Another "W" in the books for and one more home game to go! Great opportunity today for West Side H.S. AFJROTC to present our Nation's Colors and then jump in on some HowlerRaiser push-ups. Even got in some reps, and our own .100 finished out the game ending reps, to include some clapping push-ups. Agreat day for winning and and a great day for "One ROTC!"

While the A-State Homecoming game wasn't what we hoped for in terms of the final score, the Cadets had a great time doing push-ups for the fans after each scoring drive.

In addition, the coin toss to kick it all off was conducted by none other than one of our distinguished Hall of Heroes alumnus, Dr. and former Captain Tom Hill! Great running into this 1972 Olympic Medalist!

I also had the privilege to bump into one of my own former Professors of Military Science, LTC (Ret.) Leslie Collins.

What a great training event held by the Red Wolf Battalion this past weekend – the best Field Training Exercise (FTX) yet!  I would like to personally thank Dr. Fisher and Dr. Breezel from Harding University for providing most of Friday evening’s meal, along with Harding University for allowing 84 of our Cadets to use Gilliam Farms as this semester’s training site.

Cadets conducted several iterations of day/night land navigation, various classes on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), the ASIP radio, and other topics, along with Situational Training Exercise (STX) lanes for attack, movement-to-contact, ambush, and raid.

Following STX lanes, the top performing leader from each platoon was recognized with a coin from our newest member of the cadre, CPT Tatum.  He generously provided his former Company Commander’s coin to MS-III Cadets Matthew Bain (A-State) and Alaina Thomas (Harding University).

Great effort from all the Cadets and cadre and the cadre are proud of our Cadets as they continue to prepare for Cadet Summer Training (CST) Advanced Camp and mentor each other along the way.

I bet our Tuesday was better than yours! ...well, maybe not our actual golf game, but the continued camaraderie build among the Cadets and with our campus and community partners.

This year we sponsored the 1st Annual Beck Center for Veterans Golf Classic, which raised funds to enable campus and community support for Veterans.

5 Cadets and I were able to break away for the day, crush the golf ball (not always in the right direction), and for Cadet Stoil, bring home the award for Longest Drive!

I had the privilege of honoring one of our rising stars in the Red Wolf Battalion this Monday.

CADET GABRIEL OPPERMANN of the HARDING UNIVERSITY BISON DETACHMENT recently completed AIR ASSAULT school.

Not only did he finish, but he finished as the #1 student among a class of over 300 that started at THE SABALAUSKI AIR ASSAULT SCHOOL!

Having already received the coveted tomahawk for earning the top spot, the 5th Brigade Commander and Command Sergeant Major also wanted to recognize CDT Oppermann's outstanding accomplishments by passing along a 5th BDE Challenge Coin.

Well deserved, Cadet Oppermann!
