🚧🚨 IMPORTANT ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE | RUNSBORO GA 5K 🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️🚧
Please be advised that several roads throughout the City of Jonesboro will be temporarily closed on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 7:30 AM–9:30 AM for the Runsboro GA 5K!

🚧 Road closures will include:
📍 Smith Street
📍 Fayetteville Road
📍 College Street
📍 Cloud Street
📍 South Avenue
📍 South Main Street
📍 North Main Street
📍 Pine Circle
📍 Lee Street
and surrounding areas.

Residents, businesses, and visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly, use alternate routes, and allow additional travel time during the event.

Something special is growing in Jonesboro! 🌻
As part of the City of Jonesboro’s Harvesting Your Community celebration, the City of Jonesboro and Jonesboro Beautification Committee are bringing the Scarecrow Decorating Contest back to Downtown Jonesboro!
The Scarecrow Decorating Contest is just one of the ways we’ll be celebrating community, creativity, and connection leading up to our Harvest Day celebration in October. More details about Harvest Day and other activities are coming soon!
🎃 Now, we need YOUR creativity!
Businesses, families, residents, clubs, civic groups, churches, schools, and community organizations are invited to create a fun, creative, and family-friendly scarecrow to help bring Downtown Jonesboro to life.

🎓 Strengthening Leadership Across Georgia!
More than 50 mayors from across the state recently gathered at the University of Georgia for the 2026 Mayors Leadership Academy, including Jonesboro’s Mayor Donya L. Sartor.

The three day academy focused on leadership, collaboration, community engagement, and sharing strategies to better serve Georgia’s cities.

We’re excited to see these lessons and connections continue making an impact right here at home! 💚

Do you care about the future of Downtown Jonesboro and want to help make a difference?
The City of Jonesboro is seeking four community-minded individuals to serve on the DDA Board and help support economic development, business growth, and revitalization within our downtown area.
📍 Not sure if your business is located within the Downtown Jonesboro DDA District?
Check out the DDA District Map included with this post to view the downtown area.
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
Taxpayers residing in the incorporated City of Jonesboro.

Owners or operators of businesses located within Downtown Jonesboro as well as a taxpayer residing in Clayton County, or
Persons having a combination of the qualifications specified in paragraphs (1) and (2) of this subsection; provided, however, that one of such directors may be a member of the governing body of the incorporated City of Jonesboro.

Come enjoy an indoor bazaar filled with shopping, food, a silent auction, fellowship, and plenty of community connection! ❤️
