Join the Lawrence County Historical Society on Sunday, July 12, for a presentation by Blake Perkins titled "Lawrence County and the Making of America, 1815–1861."

Dr. Perkins will explore how the history of Lawrence County connects to the larger story of America's growth and transformation during the early nineteenth century. Whether you're a longtime history enthusiast or simply curious about our region's past, this is a program you won't want to miss.

Admission is free, and you do not have to be a member to attend.

We'll gather in the historic Male & Female Academy at Historic Powhatan State Park for an afternoon of learning, discussion, and local history.
