A burn ban has been issued for Craighead County effective immediately and until further notice. This burn ban has been issued due to extreme heat, dry conditions, winds, and growing concern for firefighter safety. 🔥🔥

🚒 Recognizing Courage in Action 🚒

At Tuesday night's City Council meeting, Fire Chief Marty Hamrick presented the Jonesboro Fire Department Award of Commendation to Antwane Blair, Antonio Blair, and Jayden Gaston for their courageous actions following a vehicle accident on July 8th, 2026.

These three men didn't hesitate to help those in need. Their willingness to act, their compassion for others, and their commitment to serving their community exemplify the kind of selflessness that deserves to be recognized.

On behalf of the Jonesboro Fire Department, thank you for your courage and for reminding us that making a difference doesn't require a badge, it simply requires a willingness to help.

Congratulations, Antwane, Antonio, and Jayden, and thank you for representing our community so well. ❤️🚒
