It’s time for the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship Opening Ceremony! The Academies at JHS Sleep Deprived 99402B team members participating this week include: Elijah Burrell, Dylan Thompson, Carsen Guthrie, Zayyaan Kazi, & Zach Herren (not pictured)! Zach is one of 14 students selected worldwide to serve on the VEX Student Advisory Board and is working today backstage to help in running this event! Matches start following the conclusion of the opening ceremony!

On this rainy day, Hurricane Robotics Opened the Roof! Team 99402A ‘Apex’ and Team 99402B ‘Sleep Deprived’ won Tournament Champions at the Winter in the Rock competition at UALR! In a thrilling semifinal match, they knocked off the #1 seed before winning the final match and are now qualified for the Arkansas State Championships! In addition to winning, Apex also won the Design Award for outstanding engineering notebook and team interview. Sleep Deprived won the Innovate Award! All teams worked to improve their State Skills Rankings that can qualify them for State!

Hurricane Robotics started their competition season today with 3 teams competing at the Searcy Push Back Spooktacular! 🎃 👻 We may not have come back with any awards but our teams had a fun day and learned a lot!
*99402Z went 3-3 & ranked 14th in qualifications
*99402B went 3-3 & ranked 16th
*99402A went 1-5 & ranked 26th out of 28 teams
Our next competition is coming up November 8th!

Good luck to Team 49958A “The Ace Pros” from Health, Wellness and Environmental Studies Elementary School as they compete at the 2025 VEX World Championships starting today! They are checked in, passed inspection, attended the Opening Ceremonies, and completed their first qualification match with a score of 69! Tomorrow, they’ll have 6 more matches, followed by 3 more on Wednesday. Wish them luck! 🍀

Well Dallas, it was fun and memorable for my team but I am GLAD to be HOME! It is bittersweet with this bunch of seniors as they close the door on their robotics careers and open a new door to new beginnings! It is also sad as this is the final VEX Worlds to be held in Dallas. For the next 5 years, we will be working hard to earn a spot to “the Lou” as I’m happy that one of my favorite cities will be the new host for VEX Worlds 2026 in St. Louis! Can’t wait for IMO’s pizza🍕, some amazing BBQ from SugarFire Smokehouse, a float from Fitz’s, and hopefully some Cardinals baseball! Class of 2025 is checking out! 👨‍🎓❤️⚾️🐦❤️

VEX Worlds Day 3 has ended with our team losing our last 2 qualification matches. But overall, we had a winning 6-4 record & missed out participating in the elimination rounds by one alliance pick. They enjoyed wearing their Buc-ees onesies! 🦫
