Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity

Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity Building Homes, Communities, & Hope in Clayton, Henry, and Fayette Counties since 1986! Since 1986, we have built, renovated, and repaired more than 450 homes.

Southern Crescent Habitat has transformed the lives of over 450 families through our homeownership and home repair programs. Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity builds affordable homes and completes home repairs for income-qualified families, who need a hand up, not a handout. Through education and financial literacy, families are prepared to be successful homeowners. By partnerships with volun

teers and donors in Henry, Clayton and Fayette Counties, our mission of building homes, communities and hope is possible. For more information, please visit us at www.schabitat.org.

We had an incredible two days with our friends from Coweta-Fayette EMC and Local Leverage Peachtree City!

These volunteers showed rolled up their sleeves to tear down and rebuil a fence for one of our Fayette County home repair families. Home preservation is about ensuring that homeowners can remain in the places they love, safely and comfortably, for years to come. Every project we complete is a family that stays in their home, in their community, and in a space that is truly their own.

Because of faithful volunteers, we are approaching 300 home repairs since our program started in 2013. We could not do it without volunteers and partners like these who give their time, skills, and hearts to make it happen.

Mission Minute Monday | Unless the Lord Builds

Scripture: Psalm 127:1
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.”

As we begin Homeownership Awareness Month, this verse reminds us that homeownership is more than a house. It is about stability, hope, and a strong foundation. At Habitat, we work hard to build homes, but we also know lasting impact comes when God is at the center.

Planning matters. Construction matters. Stewardship matters. But above all, we need the Lord to guide what we build. When God is the foundation, homes become places of peace, growth, and blessing.

Challenge:
This week, pray for the families we serve and for those pursuing homeownership.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the gift of home. Be the foundation of every home we build and every family we serve. Amen.

Best regards and blessings,
Cynthia Elaine Jenkins
CEO, Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity

Last week, we were thrilled to welcome members of Henry County Government and the City of Stockbridge Government out to Davis Road for a tour of our two nearly completed homes.

Our distinguished guests got a firsthand look at the progress on both lots and even had the chance to meet one of the future homebuyers.

These homes are the result of an incredible community partnership. The City of Stockbridge and the Stockbridge Development Authority provided the land and infrastructure improvements, while Henry County Government provided funding through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. Through this partnership, we're turning the dream of homeownership into reality right here in our community.

We are so grateful for the leaders and partners who showed up, toured, and continue to champion affordable housing in Henry County. We can't wait to welcome our homebuyers home!
