You may notice smoke in your neighborhood as CWL crews conduct routine smoke testing of the sewer system. The smoke is safe, non-toxic, and part of a scheduled maintenance process to help identify leaks.

Starting Wednesday, July 29, the area being tested is as follows:
- North boundary: East Thomas Green Rd.
- East boundary: North Caraway Rd.
- South boundary: Greensboro Rd.
- West boundary: North Church St.

Testing is expected to last through next week.

F.O.G. (fats, oils, and grease) might go down the drain as a liquid, but it doesn’t stay that way. As it cools, it hardens inside pipes, leading to clogs, sewer backups, odors, and costly damage.

Help keep our system flowing:
✔ Let grease cool and collect it in a container
✔ Throw it away in the trash
✔ Wipe greasy pans before washing

Keeping F.O.G. out of the drain protects your pipes and our community’s wastewater system. 💧
