🚧 TRAFFIC ADVISORY – RUNSBORO 5K 🚧

Expect Traffic Delays on September 12, 2026

This is a traffic advisory notice that the City of Jonesboro will be hosting the Runsboro 5K which will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Motorists should expect increased pedestrian traffic, temporary road closures, and traffic delays in and around the event area during this time. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use alternate routes when possible.

✅ Follow all posted traffic control devices and directions from law enforcement officers and event staff.

✅ Use caution when traveling near the race route and be alert for runners and spectators.

🚸 BACK-TO-SCHOOL TRAFFIC SAFETY REMINDER 🚸

School starts back on Monday, August 3, 2026, and we want to remind motorists that students, parents, school buses, crossing guards, and pedestrians will once again be filling our roadways.
School Speed Zone Cameras throughout the state will go live, helping to ensure compliance with posted school zone speed limits and improve safety for our children.

⚠️ Drivers should be aware that when school zone beacons are flashing, drivers may be cited for traveling 11 mph or more over the reduced school zone speed limit. Additionally, many school zones are enforced at just 11 mph over the regularly posted speed limit throughout the school day

🚌 Please remember to exercise extra caution around school bus stops. Children may unexpectedly enter the roadway while boarding or exiting a bus, and increased pedestrian activity can be expected in neighborhoods during the morning and afternoon hours.

✅ Watch for children at bus stops and crossing streets
✅ Obey school zone speed limits and traffic signals
✅ Stop for school buses when required by law
✅ Eliminate distractions and stay focused on the road
