Jewel Scott has 30 years of legal practice experience delivering quality, effective and empathetic representation to her clients. Elected to office in July 2004, attorney Jewel Scott made history when she simultaneously became the first female and the first African-American District Attorney of Clayton County, Georgia. During tenure in office in 1 year she had a 100% murder conviction rate. She be

lieves in being tough on crime but that justice must be balanced with fairness. Jewel implemented the first Defferred Prosecution Program in Clayton County during her first few month in office. She also started the first Junior Assistant District Attorney Summer Internship Program that graduated approximately 6 teenagers each summer. As District Attorney, Jewel initiated the Clayton County Chapter of the Boys to Men Program that focused on mentoring young men without male figures in their lives. Jewel is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, the Clayton County Bar Association, the New York Bar, the Turks & Caicos Bar and the Jamaica Bar Association.

On June 9th, 2020 God delivered an awesome victory. I am so thankful to all of you who helped me on this journey and for everything you did to support me. If we teach our kids how the courts work it will instill a sense of respect for the system, not fear. Jewel Scott will work with our schools to establish field trip programs for Clayton County students to attend courtroom hearings and meetings.
