🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE 🚨

The Washington County Register of Deeds Office reminds attorneys, title companies, surveyors, lenders, and the public that new affidavit requirements under TCA 66-24-101 are now in effect.

Affidavits submitted for recording (except Affidavits of Affixation) must contain both a jurat and an acknowledgment (or two witnesses) to be accepted for recording.

Please review the information below before submitting documents. Documents that do not meet these requirements may be rejected.

We’ve had a few questions about our new online records system, and we want to help clear up any confusion!

Our office in November 2024 transitioned to a new provider to improve the long-term accessibility, security, and preservation of Washington County’s land records.

While the pricing structure is different than before, there are still affordable options available:

✔️ $10.00 Day Pass – unlimited access for 24 hours
➡️ This is often more cost-effective than the previous $2.25 per document, especially if you need more than a few records

✔️ In-office public access – always available at no cost
✔️ Copies remain at our standard per-page rates (0.25 a page)
✔️ We can also assist by email for copies and basic requests

Our goal is to continue providing reliable, accurate, and accessible records while also protecting and preserving them for the future.
