Clear your Monday night plans because The Caring Cupboard is taking over Snitz Creek Brewery Annville!

Join us Monday, August 31 from 4–9 PM for a Dine & Donate benefiting The Caring Cupboard. Come hungry, enjoy some great food and drinks, and help us fight food insecurity right here in our community. ❤️

🎟️ RAFFLE BASKETS!
We’ll have some exciting raffle baskets up for grabs throughout the evening. Take a chance, win something fun, and help raise even more support for our neighbors!

🥫 FOOD DRIVE!
Snitz Creek is also hosting a food drive August 31 through September 6. Bring non-perishable food items all week to help stock the shelves at our Palmyra and Jonestown locations.

And then things may get a little… interesting. 👀

🎤 Karaoke starts at 7 PM, and there’s a completely unconfirmed, highly suspicious rumor that The Caring Cupboard’s own Al the Avocado 🥑 may be preparing a Dolly Parton tribute.

Yes. You read that correctly.

An avocado.
Singing Dolly.
At a brewery.
For a food pantry. 😂

Will Al work “9 to 5”?
Will she beg “Jolene” not to take her guacamole?
Will there be a blonde wig and rhinestones?

🏗️ WE’RE RAISING THE ROOF… LITERALLY! 🏠🙌

Earlier this week, something pretty incredible happened at The Caring Cupboard’s Beyond Hunger, Building Hope project:

The roof was raised into place! 🎉

And while we promise not to make too many construction puns… things are definitely looking up! 😄

What started as a vision for a better way to serve our neighbors is becoming very real. And with every beam, board, and nail, we’re getting closer to opening a space designed to help us fight hunger with even greater dignity, compassion, and hope.

But there’s one more thing we’d really like to raise: the remaining funds needed to finish this project.

Our goal is simple—and incredibly important: open the doors to our new home debt-free.

Why does that matter? Because every dollar we don’t have to spend servicing debt is a dollar that can remain focused on what matters most: food, programs, outreach, and caring for our neighbors who need us.

So as we celebrate this exciting milestone, we’re asking our community to help us Raise the Roof AND close the gap! 💚

Today, we honor the extraordinary legacy of Dolly Parton—a woman whose impact reaches far beyond the music, movies, and unmistakable voice that made her an American icon.

Dolly has long understood something we believe deeply: every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, dream, and thrive—and no child should have to do any of those things on an empty stomach.

Throughout her life, Dolly has used her success not simply to entertain, but to lift others. Her generosity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to children and families remind us that true greatness isn't measured by fame or fortune. It's measured by what we do with what we've been given to make life better for someone else.

Her advocacy for children, education, literacy, and stronger communities has inspired millions to believe that where a child begins in life should never determine how far they can go.

At The Caring Cupboard, that message resonates deeply with our mission. We see the incredible potential in every child who walks through our doors. And we know that when children have access to nutritious food, dignity, compassion, and hope, we aren't simply feeding them today—we're helping give them a stronger tomorrow.

Dolly once famously dreamed of doing something meaningful enough that people might remember her when she was gone.

She has done far more than that.

🌽 Got Extra From the Garden? Share the Harvest! 🍅🥒🥕

Calling all backyard gardeners, local farmers, and produce growers! If your garden is producing more zucchini than you know what to do with, your tomatoes are taking over the kitchen counter, or you simply have fresh produce to spare, The Caring Cupboard would love to put it to good use.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are some of the most appreciated items we can offer our neighbors. Donations of fresh, quality produce help us provide healthy choices while bringing a little bit of the local harvest to families throughout our community.

🥬 Produce donations are welcome at BOTH The Caring Cupboard locations — Palmyra and Jonestown.

And while we're thinking about this year's harvest, we're also planting seeds for the future! 🌱 We would love to connect with farmers, growers, garden clubs, community gardens, and others who may be interested in developing ongoing partnerships for the 2027 growing season. Whether it's sharing excess harvest, dedicating a row, organizing gleaning opportunities, or finding another creative way to grow food for our neighbors, we'd love to talk.

🌞 Summer meals. Stronger families. A healthier community. 🌞

This summer, hundreds of local children have enjoyed nutritious breakfasts and lunches because of the incredible generosity of our community partners.

Join us Sunday, August 16, from 9 AM–2 PM at Turner Chevrolet, 1251 Paxton Street in Harrisburg, for a day filled with incredible Corvettes and Camaros!

Pre-register by August 8 to save on registration. On-site registration will be available from 9–10:30 AM, followed by the driver’s meeting at 10:45 AM and trophy presentation at 1:30 PM.

Participants are asked to bring three or more non-perishable food items on the day of the show as part of the registration fee, benefiting The Caring Cupboard.

⛳ Thank You for Making our 19th Annual Golf Outing a Success!

What a day! We had fun in the sun ☀️and we made a splash in the rain! ☔

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for The Caring Cupboard's 19th Annual Golf Outing, proudly presented by Klick Lewis Chevrolet .

From our golfers and volunteers to our sponsors, prize donors, and community partners, your support helped make this year's outing a tremendous success. The laughter, friendly competition, and connections made on the course were a wonderful reminder of what happens when our community comes together with a shared purpose.
