The Lee County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom of the Lee County Courthouse located in Jonesville, Virginia to solicit input on the following zoning text amendment. The Lee County Planning Commission is initiating a Zoning Text Amendment to remove the following sections from the Lee County Zoning Ordinance:
• Section 5-13 Recreational Vehicle Park Regulations
• Recreational Vehicle Parks as a Special Use in the A-1 (Agricultural District) and B-2 (General Business District)
• Article XI, Recreational Vehicle Park definition

The Lee County Planning Commission is initiating a Zoning Text Amendment to amend Article XI of the Lee County Zoning Ordinance, Campground definition as follows:
Campground-includes tourist camps, travel trailer camps, recreation camps, family campgrounds, camping resorts, camping communities, or any other area, place, parcel, or tract of land, by whatever name called, on which two or more campsites are occupied or intended for occupancy, or facilities are established or maintained, wholly or in part, for the accommodation of camping units for periods of overnight or longer, whether the use of the campsites or facilities is granted gratuitously, by a rental fee, by lease, by conditional sale, or by covenants, restrictions, and easements.

PART-TIME DEPUTY ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER
COUNTY OF LEE

The Lee County Board of Supervisors is now accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Deputy Animal Control Officer. Under the direction of the Chief Animal Control Officer, this position is responsible for the capture, care, and disposition of stray, unwanted and diseased dogs; checking complaints of stray dogs; investigation of bite cases and animal cruelty complaints; pound operation and maintenance and recordkeeping. Applicant must successfully complete a three-week Basic Animal Control course and obtain certification within 12 months of hire. This position will work Saturday and Sunday and on an as-needed basis on weekdays depending on availability. Starting pay is $12.77 per hour with no benefits package. PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO FY 2026-2027 BUDGET

The Lee County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the General District Courtroom of the Lee County Courthouse, Jonesville, Virginia. The purpose of the public hearing is to solicit public comment on a proposed amendment to the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Budget. The Lee County School Board has carryover funds from the prior fiscal year in the amount of $8,694,742.00 which requires no additional local match. The Lee County School Board is requesting re-appropriation of this amount to the current fiscal year budget. The $8,694,742.00 is a combination of $672,562.08 in Textbook Funds and $8,022,179.92 in State Direct Aid in compliance with Chapter 725 of the Virginia Acts of Assembly, with appropriated funds for the 2024-2026 Biennium, Bill Order, Office of Education, Direct Aid to Public Education, Item 125 (C) (5) (F) and 125 (B) (23) (b) respectively.
