LEASH LAW. It Shall be unlawful for any owner or keeper of dogs to permit their dog to roam public streets and roads of the parish off of a leash unattended by a responsible person. If your dog is off your property, it is best to have it on a leash. If you are walking your dog OFF a leash, you are responsible to ensure it does not roam freely and unsupervised. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should your dog be roaming a neighborhood unattended. Your dog should also not be allowed to roam outside freely without something preventing it from leaving your property.

NOTICE TO CITIZENS

Dear Citizens,

I want to make you aware of an issue concerning the recent cutting of trees in our town park.

Entergy recently cut trees in the park without prior permission or authorization from the Town. Entergy has stated that the work was performed within what they consider to be their right-of-way.

The Town takes great pride in our park and in maintaining our public spaces for the enjoyment of our citizens. While we understand that utility companies have certain rights and responsibilities concerning their infrastructure and right-of-way, we also believe that communication and coordination with the Town are important when work is being performed on public property.

As your Mayor, I want you to know that we are addressing this matter with Entergy and seeking clarification regarding the boundaries of their right-of-way and the authority under which the trees were removed.

I understand that many citizens are concerned and disappointed by the appearance of the park following the tree cutting. Please know that the Town shares your concerns and will continue working to protect and improve our public spaces.
